When I Was A Young Warthog
1:32 AM
Let's see now. If I could describe my 13/14-year-old self in three words, they'd be: rebellious, annoying, and (I was not aware of this at the time, but) emo(?). That's not what my group and I labeled ourselves as since we thought emo kids were wannabes. We didn't really call us anything. We were just the girls.
..because I love it so much!
Don't really care who reads this, so discretion is advised :P
Yes, my friends, I am wearing this on that finger because it is, indeed, a promise ring. Don't freak out, that's exactly what it is and will remain for quite a while. Sheesh, we just started college and live 200 miles apart.
In his words: "Let's make it a promise ring. A promise to get married." This was after my mom asked what kind of ring it was. He didn't want it to be just a ring. Eeeven though it wouldn't have been "just a ring" in my eyes either way :l
But yeah! Just wanted to show it off x) Here it is on Pinterest! Go like it and repin it and junk!
Obviously, that's his name. He has one with my name on it :) Aaaand the date is 07/12/2012. It doubles as our anniversary aaaand (10 points to Ravenclaw to whoever gets this) my birthday!! So if he ever forgets it, he's in deep double-poop :)

March for Babies Update - 1 Day Left
10:27 AM
Welp...
The big day has arrived. Well, almost. Tomorrow, I will head over to be at the McAllen Municipal Park at 7am to register and walk 5.5 miles at 8am. Joy! No really, joy :)
I've been waiting for this day for a while, and now that it's here, I'm pretty nervous. I don't even know who I'm going with :T Hopefully Brandon can step up to the plate after all. And I reeeeallyyyyy hope there's no registration fee. If there is, I'm screwed.
I'll post pictures from the walk soon ^-^

Locks of Love
4:53 PM
I've always wanted to donate things. We've already sent clothes to Goodwill and the local orphanage. I want to start donating things to the RGV Family Crisis Center when I start doing college packing. I also wanted to donate hair.
BUT!
I bleached my hair like four times. There's only about four inches of my real hair all around my scalp. I'm screwed in that department.
But yesterday, I got home and opened the front door. I walked in and saw a little girl that looked like my sister watching Toy Story 3 on the TV in the living room. I say "Hi, baby!" and then I looked at the little girl in the living room.
It's Katisha and she chopped 10 inches of her hair off!
The best part is that she's donating it to Locks of Love and she knows it :) We've already started to teach her that there are people on this earth less fortunate than us and that we have the ability to help. She agrees and wants to help. She's only 5 and that she really cares truly astonishes me.
I love my silly goose<3

Man's best friend
4:48 PM
has yet again seized my heart. I've only ever had one REAL puppy. guess you can see where this is going :)
Saturday, March 23rd comes around. Morning- parents took off for Mission to visit my parents while I sleep in. 4pm- I pick up Shanya from a retreat at church. 10pm- parents come home.
With a puppy.
Katisha named her Princess. It's okay, she's 5. I, however, would have given her a people name. But that's just me -.-
It's been about 8 years since I've had a dog of my own. I was expecting this one to be just another mutt that our cousin's dog just had. But no!
What Shanya pulled out of the Huggies box was utter cuteness. She's a whitish Cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix) and as far as I can tell, she despises baths. But the poor thing was COVERED with fleas about the size of a grain of rice, so it was absolutely necessary!
This puppy has won my heart. I've already somewhat taught her basic things and I intend to be her mastah! Since Katisha's only 5 anyway :)
More cute pictures to come!

Silly things Katisha says
11:56 AM
So I have a 5-year-old sister named Katisha. As the saying goes: "Kids say the darnest things!" Katisha is nooo different!
This one is from this morning:
She was watching cartoons on my tv and I was wondering if there were any other better cartoons on. So I decided to channel surf. She remained quiet for a while.
Then she muttered: "Every time you change the channel, I squeeze my buttcheeks."
Oh, Kat. Silly, silly goose.

I am forever indebted to Miss Conway and all her English classes. As of this Monday, February 27th, 2012, we raised........
$400 in total!
I will never be able to express my full gratitude towards everyone. It is astonishing to me that they even helped me. They really didn't have to do this. But the fact of the matter is that they did, and I am truly forever thankful.
Also, that that amount of money will be going to the March of Dimes.. I can't explain how happy and warm it makes me feel inside. It's like there's actually hope for mankind :) I really hope I get many people to join me next month on the 28th in McAllen.
Whoa.
That IS next month! D:
Happy FTSK TOE Day!<3

Wait. What?
So I had signed up for March for Babies in Brownsville at an event center on April 14th. BUT. A mariachi thing came up on April 14th soooo yeah. I changed my event to April 28th in McAllen at a park! :D
A change of scenery's cute :) So yeah :) I seriously can't wait.
Oh! And Miss Conway's classes have raised $62.something for me already! :oooooo
Excitement!

I think I announced to my 3rd period AP English class on Tuesday that I am participating in the March of Dimes this year and that I needed help to reach my $100 goal.
Today, Miss Conway and my entire class completely surprised me.
On the board, I read "The class that raises the most money for Aissa gets a cupcake party and a Shakespeare movie." Miss Conway has seven classes. We 17-18-years-olds will do basically anything for food, and since it's cupcakes that are involved, I feel like they will do whatever it takes to win that cupcake party.
I feel so lucky to have such spontaneous and caring classmates! I expected maybe a little help, like a few cents/dollars donated here and there until I barely surpass my goal, but this? It's highly overwhelming and I don't think I will ever be able to thank them for their support.
Most of all, I am thankful that the money will be going to the March of Dimes to help premature and sick babies live better lives. Knowing that this is what will happen because we will do anything for cupcakes and bragging rights means a lot to me. I'm making them sound like they just want food, but that's not it either. I'm sure they know that they're donating to a good cause, and I can't wait to see the outcome of their generosity<3

March of Dimes/March for Babies
10:48 AM
Teen Mom 2 has inspired me.
No, I am not going to have a child to become a reality star.. :) I was inspired by Miss Chelsea Houska to participate in the March of Dimes! :D
I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, and after I saw an episode of Teen Mom 2 a few weeks ago, I decided to search for upcoming events for the March of Dimes in my RGV-area.
There is one walk in Brownsville on April the 14th, I believe. So I chose that one! And now I have a $100 goal to reach before then :) Of course, as a Mighty Hawk Band member, I think I can surpass that goal with ease.
BUT, how about I get some help? :) There's a badge somewhere at the bottom of this page. I believe it's after my About Me? But you should seriously click on 'Donate Now!' and help me teach this goal a lesson.
The money goes to help mothers-to-be go through full-term pregnancies so that their babies may be as healthy as can be, AND it goes to premature or ill babies! Babies are awesome!
Click 'Donate Now!' porfissss :) (I'm so Mexican -.-)
